Travel Grants

Travel Grants of the 13th Congress of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology

Purpose

A number of travel awards will be 40 grants, each to the value of 850 USD, plus free registration fee and a pass for Gala Dinner on 21 November, 2008. The grants are being made available to encourage eligible participants to attend an enrich the above Congress through presentation of their work and active participation in the meeting. These are awarded based on the quality of the abstract submitted. The grants will be made in cash to the recipients at the Congress.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must have submitted an abstract suitable for communication at the 2008 APSR Congress.
Applicant must be the presenting author of an abstract accepted for presentation at the Congress.

Selection Process

The central congress committee will review and rank the abstracts submitted for travel awards, using the following criteria:

Criteria	Weight
Originally of idea and impact of the study	20%
Significance of hypothesis	20%
Appropriateness of methods	25%
Scientific / data interpretation	25%
Presentation of results	10%
Total	100%

Applicants will be notified of the outcome in writing by 10th September 2008

Application for Travel Awards must be made online (or by completing and faxing the application form to the secretariat) at he same time as the abstract is submitted.
